General Description

The YL22D(KDF2) filter rod production machine is used with YL12D opening and plasticizing machine .

The treated acetate tow from the opening and plasticizing machine are processed with garniture, gluing, cut off and transferred to the infeed drum to form filter rods of Φ6- Φ 9mm in diameter, 60-150mm in length. The main functions are as follows:

1. The machine incorporates a switching cabinet with the necessary operating elements for the control system.

2. By means of therejection device defective filter rods can be rejected.

3. The main drive of the machine is effected by means of a three

phase A.C. asynchronous motor with a brake system which brings the machine to a quick standstill.

4. Compressed air is supplied from a central air supply system or a separate compressor. Suction and low-pressure air are provided by two incorporated into the left and right frame separately.

5. The wrapping paper is wound off the bobbin on the swivel discand fed through the change-over device,

6. The garniture tape is driven by a drum and transports the

wrapping paper through the garniture.

7. The run of the filter wrap is stabilized by a paper guide. Hot melt

or cold glue for seam and inner gluing is applied to the paper by means of nozz1e. When hot melt glue for seam is applied, shaped filter rods are cooled in the cooled sealing chamber of the garniture with a cooling system.

8. The filter rod is cut at the cut off: two knives fitted to the

highly rotating knife holder cut the rod to the desired lengths.

9. The cut filter rods are transported via a V-way and accelerator

onto the infeed drum, from where they are transferred to the conveyor belt via the transfer drum, intermediate drum and out- let drum and then to the hopper of Box filler.
